Christmas 2016
Our season started a little rough. Kevin's grandma passed away the first day of our break. Then, the stomach flu slowly swept through our house one family member a day. Nellie threw up after church on Christmas Eve and that was the end of it. We worked like crazy to finish putting together our living and dining rooms so we could host our families. A couple of crazy days of Christmas later, and things settled into a pretty quiet week. We spent the last few days of the break up north, celebrating New Years with Erin and Steve's family. As much work as it is to pack up and travel and travel and unpack, "getting away" is definitely the only way we can really relax.
They're a little out of order, but the rest of the Christmas story I'll tell in pictures.

Mary Cate is four months old!
That seems so grown up...she'll be rolling over and eating solids in no time! Meanwhile, Mary Cate has grown into a happy, active, drooly baby. The dimples still kill me, and she graces us with her smiles nearly constantly, at least until about 4:00 p.m. every day. Her favorite Christmas present seems to be the pink play mat from Grandma Lisa, and we learned that Mary Cate loves to be outside in the winter! Of course I forgot her snowsuit when we went up north. But with a hat, sock-mittens, and a blanket she was good to go.
At her appointment this morning, she weighed in at 13 lbs. 12 oz. and measured 25 3/4 inches. Growing up!
Cuddle bug
At two-and-a-half, Eddie is still quite attached to me at times. At his worst, he follows me around whining, "Mommy I neeeeed you!" At his best, he climbs in my lap happily and says, "Mommy, I want to snuggle you!" But my favorite is when he's playing or otherwise occupied and he runs up, lays his head on my shoulder or leg, yells "SNUGGLE!," and runs away.
All things considered (read: also having a nursing infant), it can be a bit trying, but I know it's one of those short phases and I'm trying to love it while it lasts.
